Plant and origin

The history of black tea is relatively young in comparison to the history of green tea. Black tea is manufactured by fermentation of green tea leaves, a process which is carried through broadly only since the 19th century.

Black tea leaves from different origins are used.

Processing and appearance

The finished product is won by extraction of black tea leaves purely with water.

Depending on the raw material used, the infusion is yellow to light brown up to medium and dark brown colour giving a wide variety of taste profiles.
